Halloween Night

O Halloween é uma festa comemorativa celebrada todo ano no dia 31 de outubro, véspera do dia de Todos os Santos. Ela é realizada em grande parte dos países ocidentais, porém é mais representativa nos Estados Unidos. Neste país, levada pelos imigrantes irlandeses, ela chegou em meados do século XIX.

Para comemorar essa data, a Cia das Línguas realizou uma festinha na própria escola no dia 29/10, com brincadeiras, animação do grupo Travesso, concurso da abóbora e desfile de fantasias.

Lousa Digital Interativa

Mais uma vez a Cia das Línguas inova no ensino de inglês em Mirassol.
A escola adquiriu a Lousa Digital Interativa, que possui inúmeros recursos para o aprendizado da Língua inglesa, com o apoio da Internet. As aulas se tornaram mais dinâmicas e proveitosas aos alunos e há ampla diversidade de atividades. Com a novidade, o interesse e participação dos alunos durante a aula aumentou consideravelmente. Venha conhecer também.

O que é a Lousa Digital?

A lousa digital é como uma tela imensa de um computador, porém mais inteligente, pois é sensível ao toque. Desta forma, tudo o que se pensar em termos de recursos de um computador, de multimídia, simulação de imagens e navegação na internet é possível com ela. O professor pode preparar apresentações em programas comuns de computador e complementar com links de sites.
Durante a aula é possível, enquanto apresenta o conteúdo programado, navegar na internet com os estudantes. Pode ainda criar ou utilizar jogos e atividades interativas, contando com a participação dos alunos, que vão até a lousa.
Nada do que é feito na lousa digital se perde, pois é possível salvar a aula etapa por etapa. Assim as aulas podem ser guardadas para sempre e até compartilhada com os estudantes, via e-mail.

Faculdade a Distância na Cia das Línguas

Cia das Línguas agora também é um polo da Universidade Paulista - UNIP.
A UNIP oferece vários cursos superiores a distância e é credenciada pelo MEC. As aulas são assistidas pela internet e podem ser vistas em qualquer lugar. O aluno recebe várias apostilas no decorrer do curso e faz as provas presenciais no polo (Cia das Línguas).
Além das aulas, o aluno pode participar de fóruns e chats, para interagir com outros alunos e os professores, esclarecer dúvidas via e-mail ou nas conversas on-line.

A duração dos cursos varia de 2 a 4 anos. Os cursos são:

Mother's Day

No dia 06/05, os alunos da Cia das Línguas tiveram a oportunidade de surpreender as mamães na escola com um maravilhoso pic-nic.
Para celebrar mais um Dia das Mães, os alunos e o professor Gabriel fizeram uma tarde diferente, apresentando às mães algumas de suas atividades desenvolvidas e depois houve a confraternização com o pic-nic que os próprios alunos prepararam.

As mães aprenderam com os filhos os nomes dos alimentos e alguns utensílios utilizados.

The History of Santa Claus

Origins of the Legend

Saint Nicholas was venerated in early Christian legend for defending young children, and giving generous gifts to the poor. Although many of the stories about Saint Nicholas are not authenticity (for example, one story says he delivered a bag of gold to a poor family by throwing it through a window), his legend spread throughout Europe. The saint was called Sankt Nikolaus in Germany and Sanct Herr Nicholaas or Sinter Klaas in Holland, in English Santa Claus.

Paraguay and Iguaçu Falls

Rafael Belleti went to Paraguay.

There are many stores there, and there are people that sell things on the street too.

The things are very cheap. Example - there was a belt that cost 12 dollars, and Rafael´s father said it was expensive and then the guy was decreasing the price until 1 dollar.

He bought a laser, his brother a knife and his mother bought some sunglasses and his father a belt.

He and his family went to Paraguay on foot, crossing the bridge.

Rafael went to Iguaçu Falls too in Parana, near Paraguay.

Iguaçu is very beautiful, he and his family walked a lot, they went to " Garganta do Diabo" it´s a

bridge where you can see the falls and take pictures, you get soaked there.

Guns N' Roses is an American hard rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. The band, led by frontman and co-founder Axl Rose, has gone through numerous line-up changes and controversies since their formation. The band has released five studio albums, two EPs and one live album during their career. After more than a decade in production, the band is finally set to release their long-awaited new album Chinese Democracy on November 23, 2008. Once released, the album will be the first original recording from Guns N' Roses since the 1991 releases of Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II.

Guns N' Roses has sold an estimated 100 million albums worldwide,[1][2][3], including over 42 million in the United States.[4] The band's 1987 major label debut album, entitled Appetite for Destruction, has sold 27 million copies worldwide and reached number one on the United States Billboard 200. In addition, the album charted three Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Sweet Child o' Mine" which reached number one.[5] 1991's Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II debuted on the two highest spots on the Billboard 200 and have sold a combined 14 million copies in the United States alone.

Formation (1985-1987)

The group was formed in early 1985 by Hollywood Rose members Axl Rose(vocals) and Izzy Stradlin(rhythm guitar), and L.A. Guns members Tracii Guns, Ole Beich (bass) and Rob Gardner (drums).[6] The band created its name by combining the names of the two original groups. A short time later, before Guns N' Roses even played any gigs, guitarist Tracii Guns quit to reform L.A. Guns. Slash replaced Guns, and Duff McKagan replaced Ole Beich (who only played one show.) Slash had played for Rose and Stradlin during a short stint in Hollywood Rose. The new line-up came together quickly, but after deciding to go on a "tour" from Sacramento, California to Duff's home town of Seattle, drummer Rob Gardner quit and was replaced by Slash's close friend Steven Adler[7]. The band, which continued to be called Guns N' Roses even though there were now no former members of L.A. Guns in the group, established its first stable line up on this so-called "Hell Tour". According to an interview, [8], Slash insists, "That [trip to Seattle] is really what cemented the band" and established its chemistry.
